What is not to love about the beauty of a classic car?
From the days when hairy chested men and women drove real race cars.

The inspiration for this piece is pretty obvious to all as the Italians would say 'bella machina classica'!

About this artwork

The Bugatti Type 35 was the most successful racing Bugatti of all time.
The Bugatti Type 35 took the Grand Prix World Championship in 1926 after winning 351 races and setting 47 records in 1924 and 1925. The 35 proved to be particularly handy at the Targa Florio, winning the Sicilian race for five consecutive years from 1925 to 1929. The Type 35 was still so relevant in 1929 that William Grover-Williams drove one to victory in the first Monaco Grand Prix to be repeated in 1930 by Rene Dreyfus. This model is of Bartolomeo ‘Meo’ Costantini’s victorious stead as raced at the seventieth running of the Targa Florio in 1926, where Bugatti dominated with a 1-2-3 victory. A close friend of Ettore Bugatti, Costantini retired from racing at the end of 1926 and took over as full time racing team manager from Ettore himself.
Ettore Arco Isidoro Bugatti introduced so many technical innovations and raised the art of motor racing to new heights, in much the same manner as a certain Colin Chapman of Lotus, many years later.

When it debuted in 1924, the Bugatti Type 35 rewrote the rulebook to such an extent,

Hmm, I am really enjoying the classic cars but need to focus on completing one before commencing the next.....It is a little like a real garage, with cars (paintings) dotted around the place in various stages of completion. At least I don't have to track down the spare parts.

My greatest challenge as always,  is being satisfied with the amount of detail that I include.

It is not a commercial balance - I paint to create images that I love and my art has to be exactly as intended.

Knowing that I have packed intricate detail that many may likely never spot, but there is comfort in knowing that it is there and  contributes to the overall image. It will also keep those with a keen eye  occupied and pleasantly surprised for many years to come - be warned that you may need a magnifying glass, as I required one to paint it!

Value

My limited edition prints are of the highest quality and should be considered to be an investment.
There is so much more passion and soul in a painting, which cannot be conveyed in a photograph - and I love photography.
You will forever be rewarded through the ownership of something that provides you with great satisfaction and pleasure each time you see it.
It will certainly be a statement piece and generate conversation and perhaps even envy from visitors and friends alike.
Thank you
